Education is an essential part of our society. We equate having a degree with the idea that it is a guarantee of getting a job. The Philippines is no stranger to this idea. Families from all walks of life all want their children to get the best education that they could have.

Education is an essential part of our society. We equate having a degree with the idea that it is a guarantee of getting a job. The Philippines is no stranger to this idea. Families from all walks of life all want their children to get the best education that they could have.

Education must start at an early age. Children are very impressionable and are very curious. They absorb information a lot quicker than adults that is why it is preferable to learn a language when you are young. Formal learning starts in schools and not just from their own families. Schools are considered to be second homes to children. Most of their lives are spent in the school, in the continuous hope of continuous education.

Parents want their children to learn in a conducive environment to help them improve. Nowadays, many schools have deviated from the traditional teaching method. With the use of modern technology and with the help of research, studies show that learning and teaching don’t have to be restricted. There are other ways to teach and in turn, learn.

Many educators have changed their way of teaching and have now been giving emphasis to “fun learning.” This means that to teach, educators must not conform to the normal standards of teaching. They must find ways to make their lessons more engaging to the students. Gone are the days where teachers are only restricted to using blackboards and chalks or manila papers and markers. Today, they use other means such as the use of games, computer and mobile apps, and other such activities.

Three Benefits of Fun Learning

1. There are three benefits to fun learning. The first would be when children feel good and happy, they tend to absorb lessons better. By giving activities that raise their spirits, you are giving them a positive experience, which in turn makes learning a good thing for them. Learning is not just about memorizing and understanding lessons, it is also about being able to genuinely like what is being taught to you. Most importantly, children should not be forced to learn.

2. The use of fun learning makes children feel comfortable. Learning should not be stressful. It is not a competition of who is better. Children should not be taught that having bad grades is what defines them. They should be able to freely say that they do not understand something and that it should be explained to them again. As mentioned, schools are their second homes. It is in these places that they are shaped into who they will become in the future.

3. It boosts physical, social, and cognitive development. Having an environment that promotes positivity will also affect children’s development. The early childhood years are very significant because it is in these times that a child’s perception of the world is created. Their growth will rely on their environment and the lessons that are taught to them. Also, by not using conventional teaching methods, they will improve their creative and critical thinking skills.

Fun learning has been gaining popularity, especially when children have a hard time learning their lessons and there are various subjects that cause them difficulty. One subject would be math. A lot of children, when asked what subject that they dislike the most is, will answer that it’s math. To help these students, we at Izumi Philippines are committed to making them learn in a fun way. As an after school learning program, we are dedicated to not just improving your children’s grades but also helping them develop into better individuals.
